2011 Catholic Debutante Ball - "Catch A Falling Star"

I was involved with the recent
 2011 Catholic Debutante Ball

As a Conveynor
it was my job to organise the event from start to finish.
Its a huge job
and the final week is hugely intense.
Let me just say ontop of the worry of my brother
and trips to Newcastle
it very nearly did my head in.

The Theme this year was
"Catch a Falling Star"

It was my job to pull the theme together so it really shone through....

The tickets looked like this:
Designed by Justine Murphy

These were designed by a local company and i think are divine,
it really set the tone for the event.

And this is how it looked on the night.
I love how the same tones are in the tickets and through out the hall.
This is what i set out to achieve.

This is the stage.
We used the LED fairy lights draping the stage.
One of the Mums made all those starts that were stapled to the stage back
and another very clever Mum & Daughter made the cloud.
The Moon is a helium Balloon.
One of the Dad supplied the steel and the design for the Stars which Stu welded up.
We then put rope lights around them.
The Special Effects lighting was done by a local company
and this was his first function.
He did such a great job!
And notice the custom gobo on the floor
it says
"Catch a Falling Star"
in the same font as the tickets.

My dear son Josh got up in the lifter and hung all those fairy lights on the ceiling.
All the chairs were covered in beautiful purple organza sashes.

The centrepieces was a design that one of the girls found on the internet
and i sent it on to Suzanne at Words or Whatever
She stamped them out of chipboard
and i glued them all together and painted them all.

I didnt get a chance to get all the photos that i wanted on the night....
So i dont have any close up photos of them.

But they did really suit the theme.

Then i made up these balloon columns that were dotted throughout
the hall and in the entrance area,
And them also the falling star
at the bottom of the stairs...

The boys wore the black suit with silver vest and cravat
and white gloves.
They looked really handsome!

Here is one of the gorgeous Debs after being presented...

And the sweet flowers...
All tied the to theme

Here is one of the girls that are being presented...
See the balloons on the stage?
They are all clouds!!!

And when the boys came in
they all layed out the big black star in the centre there.....

The cake was made by my bridesmaid Jo from Narrabri!
She did an awesome job!
Dont you love all the stars!!!

Gunnedah Services Club Wedding - Purple Theme

Jade has fabulous taste!!!
This wedding is probably one of the most tasteful weddings i have done in such a long time!!!! She put so much thought into bringing all these elements together and its really obvious in the finished product...
Even just the little personal touches is all so elegant and lovely....
All eyes are drawn to the Bridal Table which of course is the feature....
It has the Arabian Night Backdrop.... (By Wedding Elegance)
With the Bridal Table and Cake Table to match also by Wedding Elegance..
Jade chose to have a purple rose garland across the Bridal Table (From Wedding Elegance), which put the finishing touches to the table....
Jade had the Purple Organza table runners on all the tables which looked lovely.. Really tied the whole these together....
And arnt these centrepeices lovely!!!
Notice the beaded garland around the bases.... Just gorgeous!!!
The Cake table from Wedding Elegance features the cake beautifully!!!!
I love how the lights reflect the purple ribbon around the bottom of the cake....
The white Lycra fitted chair covers were totally perfect and fit so well... These are great as the cloth covers tend to slip off and look really messy as the night goes on.
These are perfect for the bride who wants to save a bit of money for something else.. They are only $2 each DIY, and are so easy to put on and remove it takes no time at all..

The purple organza sashes also from Wedding Elegance set it all off and are a bargain at $1.75 each... Thats $3.75 DIY for chair covers!!! This is the CHEAPEST avaible ANYWHERE!!!!

Looking back to the stage, the dance floor is covered in balloons which looks lovely!!!

To complete the reception, Wedding Elegance provided this lovely big Seating Arrangement Plan, and Welcome Sign..

Gunnedah Business Awards 2009 - Arabian Nights Theme

I was privalidged to provide decor for the GDDB Business Awards this year....
I was asked to quote on three different themes, and this is the one the board chose...
Arabain Nights......
As the Catholic Deb Ball was also using that staging, i lifted everything over the stage to allow heaps of access for the Debs and their partners....
I created the "tent" effect with lengths of fabric.....
The painted backdrop made all the difference to help create the theme....

The stage was further enhanced by the Arabian Night Balloon Charactors and Onion domes....
With lovely greenery around the charactors, it really added to the overall theme beuatifully and the greenery toook away the harsh lines......
These were featured on either side of the stage...
The tables were just subly decorated with matching organza overlays and little mozaic candle holders... These were set on a round mirror and highlighted with matching glass pebbles, and a little fern...
The room flowed by adding the curtains to the doors and draping from the gallery...
The entrance to the Smithhurst theatre was also enhanced by creating an Arabian Tent..
